Microsoft E-prescription

The E-prescriptions app automates the process of sending prescriptions to patients in an electronic format without any manual intervention from admins. Doctors can pull up their appointment details and quickly generate an e-prescription for each appointment which lands in a patient’s email inbox.

How E-prescription Works

  • The patient will book an appointment using Microsoft bookings, selecting the time, day, and doctor.
  • The doctor checks the “E-Prescriptions Doctor app”, where all the appointments for the day are.
  • Doctor and patient can have the meeting via Microsoft teams.
  • Using the “E-Prescriptions Doctor app”, the doctor will write the prescription to the patient and send it using the app.
  • The patient will receive the prescription in the mailbox.

E-Prescription Components

Firstly, E-Prescriptions app uses Power Platform and the Bookings app, for the patients to book an appointment with the doctor at a desired date and time. Secondly, the doctor’s team acknowledges the appointment, conducts the consultation, and generates an e-Prescription. As a result, the patient receives the email during the booking of the appointment.
